This is a gravel road that is wide enough for vehicular travel, but it is not open to the public.  Foot and bicycle traffic are permitted.

The Toll Road begins at the Pinecrest gate and continues all the way to Mount Wilson, approximately 9 miles up the mountain.  To get to the Pinecrest gate, go north on Altadena Drive one mile past the entrance to Eaton Canyon.  Turn right on Crescent, then right again on Pinecrest.  Observe parking signs carefully.

Those who wish to hike to Mount Wilson should be in excellent physical shape - the way is steep and this is not for the weak!  Although just as strenuous, Henninger Flats is only 2.7 miles and makes a more sensible outing for most people.
