Eaton Canyon Nature Center Associates
This loan program is available to school teachers and nonprofit educators. We have 8 boxes: MAMMALS, REPTILES, BIRDS, INSECTS, PLANTS, GEOLOGY, NATIVE AMERICANS, and NATURE STORIES. Sample items are a pigeon skeleton, a great horned owl taxidermy, mammal pelts, rock samples with identification, yucca fiber cord, a snake skin, acorns, an insect collection, and a flannel story board. The emphasis is on native Southern Californian nature.
Eaton Canyon Nature Center Has Boxed Kits For Loan!
Along with the real life examples in most boxes, a binder is included with individual suggested worksheet/activity sections for each grade, K-6, with copyable pages. There are fewer suggestions for middle and high school. Several books are included in most boxes. Due to the great care taken by the borrowers of the boxes, only one $25 fine has ever been assessed in the program’s 15 years.
